This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have an amazing group of boys and girls that come to school each and every day excited and eager to learn. Starting on the very first day of school, our classroom goal is to build a community based on compassion, care, empathy, and a sense of harmony with one another.
Teaching my students to appreciate and value one another despite their differences is an essential 21st century skill as we move on to working more collaboratively with one another.
Feeling safe, comfortable. and respected in the classroom allows my students to better focus on their learning without fear of judgement or criticism.
My Project
The use of technology plays a daily role in our classroom, as students are expected to use digital tools for reading, problem solving, and decision making. As part of our daily schedule, we have a designated time where most students are working on their devices, while others are pulled for small group instruction with the teacher.
The classroom can get quite noisy from the sounds of each student's device, which in turn can cause some students to become distracted.
A pair of personal headphones for each student would certainly solve this problem. Students wearing headphones would be a benefit to all, as it would definitely aid in creating a peaceful, focused learning environment.
