My Project
My students need tools that support both their physical and emotional needs as they learn. Many of them are energetic, curious, and eager to participate—but sitting still for extended periods can be a real challenge. Traditional classroom chairs and desks don’t always work for every learner, especially for those who benefit from movement to stay focused. To help bridge this gap, I’m seeking resources that will create a more dynamic and flexible learning environment, one that welcomes movement as part of the learning process rather than something that must be controlled or minimized.
Flexible seating options like wobble stools, floor cushions, and soft seats allow students to choose what works best for their individual learning styles.
These seating alternatives provide students the freedom to wiggle, shift, or stretch in a way that helps them feel more comfortable and attentive during lessons. When students are given the ability to move while learning, it empowers them to self-regulate and stay more engaged. This choice also fosters a sense of ownership and independence in the classroom, making students feel more in control of their learning environment.
In addition to seating, quiet fidgets will be available to support students who benefit from tactile stimulation. These small, discreet tools provide a calming way for students to release nervous energy or maintain focus during instruction without disturbing others. Fidgets, when used appropriately, have been shown to improve attention and reduce stress in the classroom. By integrating both flexible seating and fidget tools into our daily routine, I can help create a more inclusive and supportive space where every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
