Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergartners are so motivated to learn. Part of that learning includes using iPads to access educational, online programs. To be more specific, Amira is a reading program that our school recently implemented. In addition to the amazing data it provides for teachers to guide their instruction, it also gives students the opportunity to practice their reading out loud.
Headphones with microphones allow for more clear recognition of their reading in these academic programs.
This program, as well as others we will use in the classroom, listens to the students and supports them in reading skills they need to improve on, or those that can extend their learning. The headphones also will help students stay more focused and engaged in their learning. Multilingual learners will also benefit through a program called Lexia English, in which they will practice building their English proficiency.
