Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many different countries across the globe. They speak multiple languages and have unique traditions and practices that I love to learn about from them first hand. Their experiences are both incredible and harrowing, and yet we all come together in the same classroom to find comfort, education, and a positive environment.

What makes these students so special is that they all have something to teach each other, and they always have something to teach me.

In a world where new technologys is always at our fingertips, it's meaningful for me to teach them about my love for books and how books always help us learn something new. I don't want books to be a foreign object to them, and a fun and inviting book can teach them incredible lessons on so many different levels.

My Project

Fidget Cubes are a new tool that allows students, teenagers, or adults to relax and focus on a dice-like cube with many different relaxation components. The Fidget Cube actually promotes fidgeting, while allowing students to concentrate on the task at hand while keeping their hands busy on the cube.

The Fidget Cube will provide students, especially those with ADHD or anxiety, the ability to "click, glide, flip, breathe, roll, and spin" in a quiet, personal, and positive manner.

The creators of the Fidget Cube are passionate about moving and fidgeting. "This behavior isn't one that should continue to be stigmatized and mocked as unbecoming or inappropriate. We are passionate about the idea that fidgeting is a process that, with the right tools and outlet, can have positive and real-life applications." We know all too well that it's easy to get restless, to check out phones too many times, and to play with the pen, notebook, paper, or other object right in front of us. The Fidget Cube allows all of this to happen, but to happen quietly, personally, and positively while focusing in class, at home, or on the go.
