Help me give my students reach for the stars! These tools will help students self regulate, learn what tools works for them, and find comfort in knowing that there is a tool for everyone!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the lucky Special Education teacher to students in South Jamaica, Queens where the students are caring, empathetic, and hard working. As a school we challenge all children to think critically, collaborate, and take risks while engaged in their learning. We are cultivating innovative leaders of the future - Join us on our journey!
My Project
These learning tools will help ALL students focus more and take ownership of their learning. All of these tools will take some teaching to - Teaching kids to identify what they need to be a successful learner, which tool is best for them, when is the appropriate time to use the tools, and to learn to identify when they no longer need the tool. Research has shown that the use of fidget tools in an academic setting, when used correctly, showed academic improvement, in both general and students with IEP's. I can't wait to see the impact these tools have on my kiddos!
