My Students
My students from Inglewood, CA are enthusiastic about learning and have a zest for life. They are so candid and they are eager to become better readers and writers. Although they are young and although we are fully virtual, they are still so eager and willing to work and grow.
This year presents so many new challenges, and it is such a huge change for my little first graders, but they are transitioning into remote learning like champs.
I can't be more proud of them for what they have accomplished even in the first 3 weeks of school. They truly inspire me to be a better person and teacher.
My Project
My First Graders are fully virtual and are so eager to learn, but just need some support to help them with this big transition. All of the resources on this project will truly help my students grow immensely and transition into remote learning with ease. I have realized that in their homes, life goes on, as it should, and there are so many things that are out of our control given the circumstances. There are pets, brothers and sisters, and so many distractions that make it tougher for our students to soak in all the material and stay focused.
The trifold posters will be their workstation to stay super focused during our live zoom sessions and during their asynchronous work time.
I also plan on giving students materials and posters to hang up on these trifold for reference including daily schedule and anchor charts.
The Scholastic News subscription will help students stay connected to what is happening in the world around them. I believe in the importance of teaching students how to be 21st century learners and this is one way to do just that!
Lastly, Teachers Pay Teachers, is a hub for all digital teaching resources. With access to countless digital resources for my First Graders, this will help them make significant growth not only in their academics, but their digital literacy.
