This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in an urban setting where 95% of the students are socioeconomically disadvantaged. This year I have about 10 SPED students who love learning, but need extra attention and a comfortable environment to work in.
The majority of my students are diagnosed with ADHD or other health impairments.
My students are sweet and want to do their best and sometimes it takes them longer to concentrate or focus in a traditional classroom. Help me make our classroom one the students feel comfortable in.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The alternative seating will be used throughout the classroom as students gather in different places during group work and independent time. The dry erase markers and other supplies will be used by the students so that they can have the essential supplies they need. The clipboards will be offered to students, so they may work where they are comfortable.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful lessons.
By implementing the I Do, We Do, You Do model, my students will begin to see themselves as true authors and illustrators. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming life-long learners. As the teacher, I have done extensive research on how having essential supplies in the classroom will bring confidence to the students. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality.
