Our dream of a class set of stability balls is on the verge of coming true!
Our school is located in rural central Florida.
Our first grade class is made up of 18 energetic six and seven year olds who love learning. To encourage active learning, we are engaged in whole class lessons, small group activities, and independent work.
My Project
Stability balls give my students room for movement during whole group lessons, center activities, and independent work. They provide a release for their energy and give an opportunity to get their wiggles out without disrupting the lessons. Stability balls also provide support to the body as they encourage straighter posture.
The donations to this project will provide the last five stability balls to complete a class set.
All students will have the additional support to help them move as they are able to focus more on the lessons that are being taught. Increased focus means more learning will be happening and that is a win-win for everyone!
