Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The requested items—a fan, standing desks, and fidgets—will significantly enhance students' ability to focus and engage in the classroom. The fan will improve comfort by regulating temperature, creating a more conducive learning environment. Standing desks offer flexibility for students who benefit from movement while learning, promoting better posture and attention. Fidgets provide a constructive outlet for students to channel excess energy, aiding focus and self-regulation. Together, these tools support executive functioning skills, enabling students to stay organized, manage distractions, and fully engage with the curriculum.
Our goal is to create a classroom environment that supports comfort, concentration, and executive functioning skills.
By providing these tools, we aim to accommodate diverse learning needs, enhance focus, and help students build habits that will serve them beyond the classroom.
Our students are resilient, determined, and eager to succeed. Many are ESL learners and come from low-income or Latinx backgrounds. Despite the challenges they face, they bring unique perspectives, creativity, and a strong desire to grow. They deserve a learning environment that meets their needs and empowers them to thrive academically and personally.
