This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a class, on a daily basis, we take the time to practice our reading skills on our accelerated reading program. We take 30 mins of our day to read and improve our skills. Sometimes we read as a class but for the most part they work on reading and taking their tests on their own. I always try my best to move my students from their desks to the floor so that there is constant movement. I know how tiring it can be to sit in a desk all day and I do not want my students to experience that fatigue. With this Foamnasium couch I would like to provide my students with some flexible seating for them to comfortably read on. I have a couple of students that see chiropractors regularly and complain about back pain if they sit in their chairs for too long. I was hoping to help those students by adding this foamnasium couch to our flexible seating. I know that using the correct ergonomic reading position will allow my students to spend their time reading without putting any unnecessary strain on their joints, back and neck muscles. Creating flexible seating will allow my students to be comfortable during our reading time, and if they are comfortable they can focus better.
