Help me give my students the ability to continue to work on becoming readers while at home during distance learning. I do not have a large enough library to send home leveled books for my students to read.
I teach in an Intensive Autism self-contained classroom. My students range from 2-5 grade. All of my students are severely autistic. We serve students from every area of our school district.
My students range from being completely verbal and high functioning to students who are still working on communication and learning basic day to day life skills.
Although we are a small group it is necessary to have all the tools that any one of my students might need throughout the day. It poses a difficult problem when funds are so low.
My classroom is full of energy and learning. We are amazed by our students every day!
My Project
Distance learning is requiring that I send home a bulk of my classroom materials and library so students can continue to work towards their goals and become fluent readers. I have a very small library and since we are a small class that usually works out fine, but since we are all at home I need to have enough reading materials to send home multiple books with each student weekly.
These books will help bolster my slim library so I can challenge all of my students to surpass their reading goals.
