This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a high poverty area. They long to have experiences they usually don't have. My students come from a variety of different homes and backgrounds. They love studying how different things work. This is why it is important for us to teach in a variety of different ways and to help those who don't understand how important airplanes are in our lives and how much we rely on them.
Many of my students have only traveled on land, so it is important to tell them about the ways they get many of the goods they use, especially goods from foreign countries.
This activity will be very enjoyable for the students, as well as teach them not only about how airplanes fly but also how they enrich our lives.
My Project
These materials will make a difference by enriching our standards on how goods get from one place to another and how weight affect how fast an airplane can go.
Students will have several airplane challenges!
Once the airplanes are made, we will have challenges on speed, distance and we will also add some weight to see if the speed and distance is affected. I believe the students will enjoy this, especially during our COVID times as we can keep our distance and still have fun!
Please help us add some hands-on activities to help teach these standards and make this year more enjoyable!
