Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a very diverse classroom of 2nd graders eager to learn. We are an inner city school and we want to give our children the best experiences and the most rigorous academics so they can reach for their goals and improve their reading fluency daily.

My students are an amazing group of children that are excited to learn on a daily basis.

They come to school excited and we want them to remain that way. We want to instill a love of reading by exposing them to many different genres to help improve their fluency.

My Project

All of my students will benefit from this addition of non-fiction texts and magazines to our classroom library. We have a very diverse group of readers with varying reading levels so I chose a variety of nonfiction magazines and books to cover all levels that will help peak their interest in different nonfiction topics while improving fluency in reading.

My project will make a difference because, while we already have a great group of children who are eager to learn, this will continue to entice them to read a variety of text in their lives as opposed to just fiction.
