My Students

I am the Math Facilitator and Interventionist at a K-5 elementary school in a suburb of North Carolina. Our students are bright, eager to learn, and full of hopes and dreams. They come from a variety of backgrounds and work together in pairs, small groups, and individually to show mastery in all subject areas. This is my 27th year as an educator and I hope to provide our students with experiences they will forever remember!

I want this group of students to have all the necessary tools to apply their skills to higher level thinking and problem solving, while using 21st century skills and accessing a variety of educational resources- while loving their environment.

Students will work individually, with partners, and in small groups as they apply these skills. Students will work both at home in a virtual setting for 60% of the time, as well as at school 40% of the time.

My Project

As the Math Facilitator in my building, I will use these materials with Kindergarten students and teachers to support daily math lessons. The large-sized demonstration manipulative will help to demonstrate and model key math concepts both for students and teachers.

These resources will encourage and promote math talk designed to elicit multiple strategies and provide opportunities for students to reason relationship in numbers.

The number string is a set of related math problems designed to teach strategies based on number relationships.

The teacher guide has 180 days of instruction - a full year of quick daily math activities!
