This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When students can read, everything is possible. My students need all the help they can get when it comes to fluency.
The students come from a mostly lower socioeconomic demographic, and many do not speak English at home.
Our school does its best to inspire the kids and bring the curriculum to life. But the challenges of limited budgets and language barriers make that mission difficult.
My Project
The Apple® iPod touch® 8GB MP3 Player and speaker docker station will allow us to have a modernized listening center, where students can work on educational games, record their own reading and play it back to hear their fluency and improve on it, and participate in reader's theater where they can record their plays and make a collection for parents.

These small devices are the key to using technology to help these students with their fluency. They will be able to hone their skills in English reading with your help.
