My Students
I have 20 very busy kindergarten nuggets this year and my class is comprised of 10 boys and 10 girls. We are a very close class and enjoy spending our days learning and playing together. I strive to maintain an engaging learning environment that supports all learners.
My kinders need a great way to release some extra energy and do so without losing instructional time.
This year has presented many challenges for my little learners and I've had to completely revamp how I teach them. I'm always looking for ways to keep learning fun and motivating but still relevant.
My Project
Due to the challenges that social distancing presents in my kindergarten classroom, I cannot offer my usual partner games, literacy stations or math stations in small groups. I'm, therefore, looking for new ways for my kids to get up out of their seats, have fun and still practice relevant skills.
An annual subscription to Fluency and Fitness (learning videos that incorporate math and literacy skills with built in fitness moves), Fluency Find It (learning videos that incorporate math and literacy skills with corresponding worksheets), and digital task cards (that I can assign through Google Classroom or Seesaw for home practice) would be a great addition to my busy kindergarten classroom.
I know that my students would be begging for these activities daily and I can gladly say, "YES!" since we won't lose any instructional time AND we'll be having fun! Included are videos covering comparing numbers, patterns, making 10, shapes, silent e, phoneme substitution, syllables, and MANY more!
