Help me give my students the opportunity to exert their autonomy by choosing flexible seating such as, wobble stools, stability balls, and lap desks to support their self regulation, and overall focus .
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Being a special education teacher at PS 108 means I have the privilege of working with a diverse population of students. In my k/1 bridge self-contained classroom, I teach a special group of students with varying disabilities and a diverse set of needs. Each day I am inspired by their growth, as they strive to meet their goals.
My Project
By helping to fund this project, you will provide my students with the opportunity to learn in an environment that provides them with the ability to choose the seating that is most conducive to their learning.
By incorporating flexible seating into my classroom, my students will be able to exert their autonomy, while also assisting with self-regulation, and overall focus.
After a difficult year of learning virtually, my goal is to create an environment rich with academic and social-emotional growth, while also meeting the needs of all students.
