This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 4th-grade teacher at a public school in Arizona. My school is a title 1 school where one hundred percent of students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch.
My students come to school excited and ready to learn.
They work well together as a team and encourage each other to strive towards their goals. My classroom is filled with uniqueness and diversity.
As a teacher, I am committed to providing my students a quality education through relevant and meaningful lessons. Through differentiation, I make sure the needs of my students are met. In my classroom, students grow academically in addition to learning life skills and building confidence. My students are the reason I come to school every day.
My Project
"Flocabulary is a learning program for all grades that uses educational hip-hop music to engage students and increase achievement across the curriculum. Teachers at 20,000 schools use Flocabulary’s standards-based videos, instructional activities and student creativity tools to supplement instruction and develop core literacy skills" (Flocabulary).
Flocabulary is a great program that keeps students engaged and helps them learn and remember academic content.
Flocabulary songs are aligned to state standards and help to reinforce our school's curriculum. The songs help students build vocabulary and learn key academic concepts.
My class was able to do the free trial of Flocabulary and they absolutely loved it. The catchy songs and videos not only were engaging but also helped my students to better understand our curriculum.
