My students need two more Acer Chromebooks in order to explore virtual museum tours, web quests, video content to relate science to everyday experiences.
My students are active learners. We continually seek out new ways to learn about science using our surroundings.
My students are 100 8th graders in rural Virginia.
Our school has a wide range of socioeconomic status. 50% of my students are special needs, requiring access to a computer to type assignments rather than hand-write assignments. We have many active learners who want to relate what we learn in our classroom to the outside world.
My Project
My students will use the Acer Chromebooks to take virtual museum tours, research historical contexts to our science topics, complete webquests, and participate in a flipped Classroom set-up. Our chromebooks will also provide read-aloud assistance to our special needs groups.
Your donation will provide materials to students who would normally not be able to experience science in the hands-on technological way.
My special needs students will be able to listen to texts and read more in depth rather than just skimming the surface of their material.
