My Students
Lights, camera, action!!! What student in elementary school doesn't like technology and video, what better way to get them excited about school and use it in the classroom.
My students are energetic Nebraskan third graders.
They love to express themselves in ways that show emotion and excitement. Being in a small school in elementary they're not given the chance to express themselves in many different ways. They love to do plays and make their own plays. They love to dress up and perform.
My Project
I'm asking for a FLIP video camera, because the last time they performed a reader's theater I taped it, but it was a hassle to get on our website for the students to see. The reason this being is that the computer at school does not have the right ports to plug in my camera. I figure a flip camera is a good choice to allow my students to use their interest in entertaining for all subject areas.
In the month of October they are reading Mysteries, and they are also creating their own mystery play that I hope to film and put up online.
I also to hope to put a year in review video together for all the students for an end of third grade DVD.
I have so many more ideas in the back of my head to use this video camera for like:
*Multiplication rhymes
*Landform Project reports
*Historical speeches for possible black history month
*And more plays, because that is what gets them excited.
