This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." ~Benjamin Franklin In my classroom I try to involve my students in learning as much as possible. Instead of just listening to me teach and then taking a test, I allow my students to have many hands on experiences.

I have thirty-one wonderful students that are excited about learning.

They come to school ready to work and gain new knowledge. Within that thirty-one I have many that speak English as a Second Language and a few students that receive Learning Support services.

My Project

The materials I am requesting can be used in many ways. I can use them when I am doing direct instruction and the students are watching me teach certain skills using the pocket charts. The students will also be able to come up to the chart during the lesson and demonstrate their understanding. Another way they can be used is during guided reading or center time. The students will be able to work together and reinforce skills taught during previous lessons.

This project will improve my classroom by giving my students additional learning activities during center time.

The pocket charts will be especially beneficial for students that are visual and kinesthetic learners.
