I teach at an inner city high school. We do not have much technology available to us, nor the budget to purchase these items.
In order to prepare my students for college, I like to have my students do presentations. I find that my students do a great job given the opportunity to teach each other the material. Like in college, students are given a topic, and must have a visual aid as they explain the concept to the class. Unfortunately, not all current technologies are readily available to my students, limiting their presentations to poster projects.
With the Mino Flip Video my students will have the opportunity to make videos for their presentations. I will also have the ability to record their presentations to use later as a review. The Flip Video can also be used as a digital camera, which would be helpful for my students' as well. The pictures could be used for a gallery walk, or inserted into a PowerPoint presentation and notes. This new technology would greatly prepare my students for any college class as they work on their presentation skills.
Thank you for your help and support of science education! Your donation will bring current technology into my classroom and help to prepare my students for college presentations.
