This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
How do you learn best? Can you sit in a lecture and understand exactly what the teacher is saying or do you need a more dynamic classroom?
My students need a dynamic classroom- and I'm committed to giving it to them!
Visuals, technology, activities, whatever I can get my hands on. My students are in an inner city high school chemistry class trying to learn one of the toughest subjects there is (I don't think so- but they do!) They are considered high poverty and don't have have many role models to help get them excited about science- this is where I come in!
My Project
With two Flip Cameras, a whole new world of technology will be opened up to my students! Classes can be videotaped. With such a high absentee rate, these lessons can be viewed so struggling students can be supported even when they miss a class. Lab activities can be taped as well- imagine how much reviewing these labs can assist students as they review for finals and state testing! I will also be able to record classroom discussions and presentations and allow students to see themselves and how they can improve. I also want to check the Flips out to students so they can record their own lessons and videos to be viewed for the class. The possibilities are endless!
Giving my students every opportunity to be supported and successful is so important in their development as learners.
