My Project

I love that my students are curious, creative, and eager to explore new ideas. Every day they walk into our classroom ready to try, build, code, test, and redesign. They’re not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. My 7th graders thrive on hands-on challenges where math, science, and technology come to life.

Students will design, build, throw, measure flights and test different paper airplane models, then collect, graph distances and calculate averages to analyze data while exploring the mathematics of flight.

STEM tie-in: test wing shape, folds, and material strength.Through hands-on trials, they’ll apply 7th grade math standards in statistics, geometry, proportional reasoning, and integers. Our goal will be to follow up the unit with a trip to the Air Force Museum.
