My students need comfy flexible seating options. These seats and carpet will make flexible seating a viable option on my classroom and will make learning fun and exciting.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What makes my students so special is their thirst for knowledge! I have the privilege of teaching these incredible young minds on a daily basis. I try make every aspect of the school day fun yet interesting.
My school is located in NYC, in a high poverty area.
The students in my classroom are mostly from homes where English is not the first language. Students often find it hard to get help with their homework because their parents aren't familiar with the language.
My Project
I know my students will love sitting on the beautiful new gray rug during a read aloud or a reading lesson. I know my 3rd graders will also be excited to use the flex-space comfy floor seats and the soft seats. I can picture students using these at any point during the day. Flexible seating is a fun and exciting way for students to learn. It provides students an option of seating while they are engaged in a math lesson, reading independently, or working in cooperative groups. Giving students flexibility while learning makes learning fun and exciting. No student can learn while sitting at a desk all day long and I know that these seats will make a huge difference in the dynamic of my classroom!
