I have an entertaining, unique group of 4th- and 5th-grade students who love to complete hands-on activities and move around to stay active. They benefit from having the flexibility to move around the classroom to change things. My students spend a minimum of eighty minutes in the math classroom daily. Some of their best work has been completed while lying on their bellies or sitting under their desks! My goal is to provide them with floor cushions to move about on the floor (even under their desks!), a fuzzy rug for center work and games, and dry-erase stations where they can sit on the floor while still solving math problems! It would be nice for them to have more comfortable options to move around the school instead of sitting at a desk the entire time.
