My Students
My 5th grade classroom is full of joyful 10 and 11 year olds who are excited about school and love to learn. My students come from very diverse backgrounds and countries. Many students in my classroom are learning English as their second language.
My 5th graders are learning how to be better people as well as lifelong learners.
They have very little support, resources, and their family's have trouble providing basic needs. At school, they feel loved, heard, and respected.
My Project
My students come from diverse backgrounds, languages, and learning environments. Currently, we have 33 students in a medium-sized classroom with one small table for optional work space. My students love working outside of their desks and really focus when they do so, however, there are really only two options: to fight over the small table or use the floor. By having options such as stools, bungee chairs, pillows, and a soft carpet, students will be more apt to focus on schoolwork.
Flexible seating will allow our classroom environment to thrive and encourage students to be excited about their learning!
These resources will make a small, cramped, and very old classroom be an accessible and outstanding learning environment for my at-risk learners! Thank you!
