Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 4th and 5th graders full of energy, and most of all eager to learn. Our school is an inner city school with 98% of the population qualifies for free and reduce lunch. These kids come to school excited and ready to give it their all. Many are English learners working hard to reach their English goals to reclassify and be proficient in English with little support at home.

My students enjoy spending time at school many times because school is the one places they feel safe and taken care of.

They come ready to tackle any academic challenge they come across. It is a great experience as a teacher to see how they take ownership of their learning throughout the year.

My Project

Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to move, collaborate and communicate with their peers. A flexible seating classroom helps create a learning environment that keeps up with the hyper-connected world we live in.

In a flexible seating classroom, students have shown increased motivation and engagement and overall improved behavior.

I know my students would feel a sense of ownership and pride which will motivate them to work twice as hard.

The metal stools and portable lap desks will allow students to be able to focus on their work since they will be 100% comfortable. It will increase their engagement and productivity overall.
