Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During small group work times they need accommodations and support to stay in groups. Currently my students are assigned to work in learning groups in our room. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given support and accommodations in their seating.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given support when sitting.

The products that I have selected will help my students giving them additional seating options to give support and accommodate their sensory needs. The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at tables or on the floor but will still allow some movement. The timer will be used when providing short breaks. The cuddly weighted animals will provide sensory input and assist them sitting.
