I work at an IB charter school and I am excited to be working here at a school that has been around for 12 years. Our school strives to do hands on inquiry based teaching with our students. At our school we are striving to teach them to be independent learners that go out in the world and help to make a difference in the world.
As a teacher I am striving to help my students in any way that I can to be not only confident in themselves but to be positive with each other and help in building a great classroom environment.
I hope that they will take the ideas they learn in the classroom and apply in to their own learning and continually strive to ask questions and drive with those questions to find their answers.
My Project
I want to give my students the opportunity to have the ability to move around the classroom with different seating arrangements with different types of chairs that help in focusing on their learning. I have a few students that I know this would help benefit them in the classroom and help them target their learning even more throughout the school year.
My students are learning many great and wonderful things in the classroom and I know that flexible seating will help spark that learning even more.
I hope that this will allow them to learn in different parts of the classroom and help expand their horizons.
The students will have an opportunity to try different seating choices through- bouncy balls to give them something to bounce on while learning in the classroom as well as cushions for their seats and even wobble chairs to give them more movement while working on individual and group work.
