My Students
My school is located in the inner city of Richmond, Virginia. We are currently labeled as a Title 1 school based on various reasons. My students are focused, hard working, thoughtful, and very energetic! Several of my students are apart of a low income household. They come to school each day ready to learn and begin a new day regardless of the happenings at home. These challenges are seen opportunities for my students to succeed and stay driven for more.
My project is driven to keep their active minds and bodies engaged!
With that being said, I would like to raise enough money so that each of my 12 students have the option of a flexible seat of their choice. This will assist with keeping them focused during instruction. With COVID regulations in the classroom, my students must maintain a distance between them so having to stay at their desks can be very challenging as you can imagine. This would be a great opportunity for my students to flourish and grow inside and outside of our classroom.
My Project
These flexible seating options will help my students grow as our classroom evolves throughout the year. The students will use these seating options as a say to keep focused and take their learning to their fullest potential. These would be used daily in place of their standard chair. Having the flexible seating will truly make an impact especially in the lives of these students who are transitioning back to the classroom for the first time since Kindergarten.
