My Project

We are a diverse group of learners, and for many of my students, school is a safe haven where they can grow both academically and socially. I want to give them every opportunity to succeed by creating a learning environment that meets their developmental needs.

Kindergarteners are not made to sit still for long periods of time — they wiggle, bounce, and move constantly as part of how they learn best.

This project will fund a variety of flexible seating options like stools, and cushioned seats that allow students to choose how and where they learn best throughout the day.

Flexible seating encourages collaboration, increases engagement, and supports students who need movement to stay focused. Instead of being confined to a traditional desk and chair, students will have the freedom to sit, kneel, or bounce — whatever helps them feel most comfortable and ready to learn.

By incorporating flexible seating into our classroom, I can better meet the sensory and learning needs of all my students — especially those who benefit from movement or have difficulty focusing in traditional chairs. This will create a more inclusive, dynamic, and engaging classroom environment.
