Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to request a flexible seating option for our classroom that includes four chairs with attached retractable tables. These chairs would offer students the ability to sit comfortably during independent or small-group work, while providing a surface to support their notebooks or laptops. The retractable feature would allow the tables to be tucked away when not in use, promoting a clean, versatile learning space that supports movement and transitions throughout the day. This design meets the diverse needs of our students, especially those who benefit from structured but flexible seating arrangements that help them stay focused and organized.
Adding these chairs would support our goals for a student-centered learning environment that encourages responsibility, choice, and comfort.
Whether students are responding to a reading prompt, collaborating on a digital science report, or simply needing a quiet spot to reflect, this seating option will provide both utility and adaptability. With more intentional workspaces, students will have increased opportunities to take ownership of their learning and make the best choices for how they engage with the content.
