This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am reaching out to ask for your support in providing flexible seating options for my fifth-grade students to help them succeed in their reading and math lessons. While some students are perfectly comfortable sitting in a traditional plastic chair all day, others thrive when they have the option to sit in a more relaxed, comfortable space. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they feel most at ease, which can make a big difference in their ability to focus and engage in learning. By providing a variety of seating options, such as soft cushions, bean bags, or wobble chairs, students can select the best environment for their individual needs, leading to improved concentration and better retention of material.

Flexible seating will create a welcoming and supportive space for students to learn to read and complete math lessons.

When students feel physically comfortable, they are more likely to feel confident and motivated to take on new challenges. For some, sitting in a cozy space can reduce anxiety and increase their ability to focus on the task at hand. With the flexibility to choose their seating, students are not only learning to read, but they are also building responsibility and independence in making choices that enhance their learning experience.

Thank you for considering this request to provide flexible seating for my students. Your support would create a more comfortable, engaging environment that fosters a love of learning, and helps each child grow at their own pace.
