My Project
My scholars would greatly benefit and appreciate more flexible seating in our classroom. They love to read but grow bored and disinterested reading at their desks or on our uncomfortable carpet. These chairs would give them the option to sit comfortably to engage in a favored activity. They would be given the option (a few scholars a day) to use these chairs during independent reading, centers and small groups if appropriate.
My students come from a low income area.
I love being able to give them the gift of books and reading when so many of them tell me they don’t read at home because they don’t have any books. I want to make this the most enjoyable time of their day.
