This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten is a year long exciting learning adventure. We spend a majority of our day in the rug area talking, experimenting, problem solving, dancing, singing, writing, etc. We do so much as a community of learners.
In our rug area I have optional seating choices which include two small couches.
Having the couches allows for students to sit up a little higher then their friends on the rug while still being able to see. It allows allows students to sit in a different position then criss cross on the floor, which allows students to do their best learning.
Our current couches are over 10 years old. They are ripping at the seams, and sunken in from years of use. In certain areas you can feel the wood under the cushion area, which make them uncomfortable. We really need new couches to do our best learning!
