This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By providing self-selective seating, students are given the opportunity to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Not everyone learns by sitting in one seat for a couple of hours at a time. Some of my students like to stand while working, while others like to sit on the floor or in a comfortable area. However, its my 2nd year teaching so my options for alternative seating are limited. I would like to provide my students with multiple choices for seating, such as a swivel chair, which will increase how productive they are in the classroom. When students are comfortable, they are able to focus, be engaged, and participate more in class. This is my goal by providing alternative seating and allowing students to select the seat that will help them learn best.
