This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom consists of low-income special students who many struggle to perform at their academic grade level. In my classroom, it is my hope that I can teach my students strategies and skills that they can use daily to succeed. I hope to provide them with a safe space to learn and to teach them to always dream big.
Providing my students with flexible seating for our classroom will give them the opportunity to learn comfortable ever day.
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them.
Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables or laying on the floor with a clip board. Making sure my students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
