Help me give my students Flex seating. This allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The problem my project is addressing is that the current style of traditional classrooms are not being created for all kinds and types of diverse learners. When students are well supported within their environment and community they are more likely to thrive. If a student is unsuccessful in a class, it is not because they do not want to be but “because they are uncomfortable or feel unsafe or even afraid in their educational environment”. My goal is to create a classroom where learners are comfortable and feel supported with their basic needs met, so they can thrive emotionally and academically to create outstanding young individuals. These needs will be met by creating a more inclusive classroom for diverse learners. With flex seating students will have the choice of where they want to sit and how they can be comfortable. This will increase productivity and engagement while decreasing outburst due to anxiety and discomfort.
