This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is known that students learn best when they are able to be engaged with one another and with their environment. The effort that is put forth by all of my students amazes me daily. I believe that if we have some flexible seating options it would help me keep my students engaged during our small group sessions. In this project, there are two types of Lap Desks that I would like to use for my struggling students. I find that when my students are taken out of their regular desks, they are more willing to participate. I am hoping to use these seats for small group instruction during math. Flexible seating is proven to keep students engaged and provide a comfortable learning environment. Students will use these desks during small groups and independent work opportunities. I would like seating options in my classroom that help keep learners engaged.

Flexible seating options will help provide my students with a comfortable learning environment that is conducive to student collaboration and engagement.
In this project, there are also desk pets that I would like to give the students when they reach a math goal!
