I have a classroom of 24 enthusiastic learners. My students are all on different levels, and they all love to learn. We have a great sense of community and the students are all supportive of each other. We love learning by using hands-on materials and technology.
In my classroom I have flexible seating, do lots of partner work, and have many learning opportunities to ensure that I meet every child's need.
I have an awesome group, and I am grateful that they come to school excited to learn!
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean, or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain. In turn, it helps keep young minds more alert and focused. It also helps with student management because they must make appropriate choices for where to sit and be most productive.
Studies have shown that seating arrangements impact the learning process, so letting students choose where and what to sit on helps attention span, concentration, comprehension, and the retaining of information.
