Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a fun, dedicated and hard working group of 5th grade students in a Title 1 school. They are fun to teach and helpful to their peers. This group of students is diverse and a joy to teach every day.
My Project
One important part of the day in any elementary classroom is small group time, when a teacher helps fill in gaps and clarify misunderstandings in small groups. Sometimes, students can feel insecure about needing this support, but every student will need additional help at some point, especially due to remote learning and the COVID pandemic. In order to make this time special, engaging and fun, I would like to use wobble stools at my back table where I do small groups or one-on-one interventions. Using these stools will not only help students feel engaged, but help them feel special.
