My Students

We live in a small burgeoning community in SE Portland, OR. Nestled among tall trees, certified backyard gardens and bike routes aplenty, our school is constantly growing and evolving.

This is my first classroom all to myself!

Needless to say, I am trying not to break the bank making my classroom perfect for my first class! Our room will be filled with reflections of the beings that inhabit the space. Artwork and student work filling the walls, pictures of our community and our classroom norms will be aplenty.

Help us make our classroom a warm, safe and well-stocked place where learning and personalities can grow and thrive!

My Project

Each child's body is different and has different needs. For some, sitting in a traditional chair works best for maintaining focus. Others need the ability to sit on the floor, lay on a carpet with a clip board, others thrive when sitting on a stool. Having multiple options for each body's needs can be hugely impactful on students' comfort in a space.

Unfortunately, the furniture provided by public schools does not fit the specific needs of each child.

While we have improvised with small carpets, pillows and clip boards, having a wider variety of seating options for students will ensure that all can reach their peak focus based on what their body needs!
