My Students
This school year, I have about 200 middle school students, each wonderfully unique. They have a wide variety of economic, language, ethnic, and personal backgrounds and experiences. My goal is to help every single one of them cross the finish line of eighth-grade mathematics, ready for high school success. My students are risk-taking, caring inquirers. They will continue to develop these International Baccalaureate learner profile traits in their middle school years and build a trusting classroom community to support one another.
My Project
Students enjoy being comfortable in our classroom. Anything that gets teenagers to lower their stress levels and be happier in a math classroom is a great idea to me! This project is a request for two comfortable chairs to add to our eclectic collection of flexible seating.
During partner and group work time, students are encouraged to move about the room and find a quiet spot or new perspective where they can focus.
We currently use cushions, various side tables, and a futon, and would love to add two matching chairs on the side of the room. Thank you for helping our class.
