My Students

As a first-year teacher, I look forward to meeting my first class of kindergarteners. Teaching is my passion and I am excited to create a positive and welcoming environment for students. Kindergarten students are so eager to learn and grow each day which makes teaching them an absolute joy.

Kindergarten is the time where students learn to love learning.

Students become part of a community for the first time and learn how to be a student. This first year of school is important to set them up for a life long love of learning and a love of school. During this first year, students start to discover themselves as an individual and as a student. I am so lucky to guide children through this year and help them grow.

My Project

The school day can be long especially for kindergarten students. Sitting in a chair at your desk all day is hard. Students, especially five-year-olds need the opportunity to make choices and move throughout the school day.

This floor desk will give the young students an option of where to sit and the ability to move throughout the day.

Students will be able to sit at any place in the room and even sit together for group work. This seating option can be used during independent work and center time. Students will be able to make decisions about their seating arrangement and get moving!
