My Students

Our classroom at RL Elementary in Maple Grove, MN is full of 25 eager, enthusiastic, and energetic first grade students. The boys and girls within this classroom come from a variety of backgrounds, races, cultures, socio-economic statuses, and ability levels. However, they do have some things in common. They ALL come to school each and every day ready to learn something new, spend quality time working with their classmates and friends, and of course have some fun along the way.

My Project

The 2018-2019 school year will be my 14th year teaching in first grade. Last year I ditched traditional desks and chairs for my first grade learners and went to a flexible seating learning environment. It was such a positive change. The first graders loved being able to choose spaces to work and learn. I had wobble stools, ball stools, pillows, a low table, and a standing table for the students to use when learning. The big bean bag chairs requested in this Donors Choose Project would be an excellent addition to our flexible seating classroom. Thank you for your consideration!
