My classroom is very diverse and my students attend school in an urban community.
My students come to school every day ready and eager to learn!
Despite any hardships they face at home, when they step into my classroom, their faces light up with anticipation of what the day has to offer.
My students love working in groups, listening to stories, and completing "hands-on" activities. They are very routine oriented and active learners. They are sponges and take in everything I teach them and apply it.
My Project
Flexible seating has positive effects on student learning and behavior. Flexible seating allows students to move while working. Whether it be using wobble chairs or cushions, balance ball chairs, or fidget bands, students get to be physically active while learning. It's a fact that increasing physical activity increases student performance and brain function. Allowing students to have movement during learning will help children who are restless to pay more attention and stay focused. It will also give children who have a lot of energy, an outlet.
Flexible seating allows students to be comfortable while working!
Sitting in a desk all day can be very uncomfortable. Flexible seating such as yoga mats will allow my students to spread out. Flexible seating also provides choices to the students.
