My students are awesome! They have great ideas and love to learn. They like to be creative and have fun. They deserve the best education and classroom that I can give them! They come from a wide range of backgrounds and I love to see them all work and learn together.
I believe my students will thrive in a classroom that offers flexible seating.
They like to move around and struggle to sit still. Flexible seating will allow them to do this while learning.
My Project
Flexible seating is allowing students to choose where they sit each day. I would like to get rid of traditional classroom desks and tables and allow students to have spaces within the room work. Some of these options will include standing, sitting close to the ground, wiggling, and gently swaying on yoga balls.
I am excited to provide my students with flexible seating.
I have noticed over the years many students do not work well sitting at traditional desks all day. They like to get up and move around the room. Students who need movement often tip in their desks which can be dangerous.
I envision once my classroom is set up with flexible seating it will not look like a traditional classroom. I would like it to have more of a "home" feel where students feel comfortable to work on their learning.
