My Students
I get the honor to teach sweet kindergarteners each day! The world is such an amazing place for them full of wonder and excitement. They are constantly wanting to learn and get their hands dirty with what we are doing in class each day! I love how much they love coming to school each day! We live in an area where students are supported by teachers, families and the community! We look to put the most engaging and effective resources before our students!
My Project
In schools today we see students who are having a harder time focusing on their teacher, work and even their peers. They are in sensory overload. You see several students that have a hard time with moving and fidgeting around instead of focusing on the task at hand. There is a simple solution to this! FLEXIBLE SEATING! I would love to provide my kindergarten students each day with the choices to choose their type of seating they would like to sit in. In my project I have included exercise balls, fidget bands for the bottom of the chairs, cushions, wobble stools and rockers. This will allow them a part in their engagement for the day! This will be an effective and fun way to keep kiddos engaged!
