My students need flexible seating to learn in a comfortable and exciting way. These wobble chairs will allow the kids to move their bodies, as young kids need to, and learn at the same time!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year will be my third year as a teacher in the NYCDOE. My kindergarten students have a variety of needs. With the school demographics being 79% Hispanic, and 13% English Language Learners, many resources are needed to ensure that all learners needs are being met. In kindergarten, one of the most important things to have is environmental print around the room, and visuals to go along with all teaching materials. Also, it is imperative that students feel comfortable in the classroom. A comfortable and fun environment will lead to them doing their best learning!
Our school's mission is to collaboratively educate the whole child.
My students deserve the best education possible, and I want to make sure I have the resources to provide them with that.
My Project
Flexible seating is a big trend in many early education classrooms across the country. After doing my research, I also believe that allowing students to sit in something that is not a hard rigid chair, is what some students need to learn and focus. Have you ever seen a child not be able to sit still? Well with these chairs, the students may wobble and move as they please, and still learn! What an amazing thing that would be.
These wobble chairs would give my students the choice and the opportunity to learn in a way that is new, but necessary for them.
Along with the wobble chairs, my students need partitions to help them focus on their own individual tasks, as well as magnetic letters for literacy learning centers. Please help my students learn in a way that will benefit them and the class as a whole!!
